Rubbish removal & house clearances in Beauty Point
The street is up here, the houses are down there, and we plan for exactly that.On the Beauty Point peninsula the water side of almost every street falls away below the road: front doors reached by their own stairs, gardens on landings, the bay at the bottom. Everything we take out is carried up. So we plan a Beauty Point job like a small expedition, and price it like an ordinary one: fixed, in writing, before a single thing is carried.
Below the road, above the water
Pearl Bay Avenue, Beauty Point Road, Medusa Street: quiet streets along the spine of a small peninsula, where many a letterbox at the kerb belongs to a roof you can only just see. The waterside houses sit well below street level, reached by their own stair flights, and there is no backing a truck down to any of them.
That one fact shapes every job here. The truck stays up on the street, the crew does the carrying, and a skip rarely has anywhere to stand even where one could help, which, a few flights above the house, it mostly can't.
None of this changes the manner or the model. It changes the planning, which is ours to do, and it is done before the day, never discovered on it.
What we settle before the day
Every Beauty Point quote arrives with a plan already behind it. Not a document you have to read: just questions we have answered before we agree the price, so nothing is met for the first time halfway up a stair.
| Where the truck stands | Which street, which side, which hour. Mosman Council issues no permit that would hold a truck spot, and Spit Road at the peninsula's edge is a 24-hour clearway, so the answer is local knowledge and courtesy, not a permit number. |
|---|---|
| The route up | Which stairs, which gates, where the landings are, and what gets protected on the way: rails padded where a wardrobe has to turn, pots moved and put back. |
| Hands and trips | The carry decides the crew size, not the volume. A below-road frontage often simply needs more hands, so we bring them. |
| The awkward pieces | The sideboard on the bottom level, the outdoor setting on the water-side deck: named on the walk-through and planned one by one. |
| The price | All of the above sits inside one fixed price, settled in writing before the first trip. The stairs never appear at the kerb as a surcharge. |
Getting this wrong is what turns a below-road job sour: a crew that quoted from a photo re-quoting at the top of the stairs, or a bin sitting at road level while the family does the carrying after all. Planning it properly is not heroics. It is just the job, done in the right order.
Priced like an ordinary job, because to us it is one.
The skip and the council cleanup, honestly
Two alternatives people here weigh up before calling anyone, and both deserve a straight answer rather than a sales line.
A skip bin
A skip can only stand at street level, if your street has room for one at all, and every armful still has to come up the flights to reach it: yours, or somebody's. If you want the carrying done for you, sorted as it goes and gone the day it is loaded, that is a pickup crew, not a bin.
The Mosman Council cleanup
Genuinely useful, and genuinely free. It collects from the kerb, which in Beauty Point means the top of the stairs by collection morning. When the carry, the timing or the sheer volume is the problem, that is where a booked crew earns its place. The cleanup guide sets out what it takes and when.
Held for decades, cleared in one careful go
Beauty Point houses tend to be kept, not traded. This is an owner-majority pocket where a family home is held for twenty and thirty years, and a house held that long fills properly: the under-house, the shed on the garden landing, the room nobody has opened since the kids left.
So when the call comes it is rarely for a load. It is for the whole house, at a hard moment: a deceased estate, a downsizing, a family gathering up a lifetime one stair flight at a time. It is the job our name was written for. The photographs and papers are boxed safe before the first trip up the stairs, good pieces are offered on rather than tipped, and the rooms are swept before the keys go back.
The estate clearance page sets out exactly what handled means, and the walkthrough turns the whole process into a calm read. Running it from interstate? Distance is normal here: video calls, everything in writing, couriered keepsakes.
The fridge still dies at the bottom of the stairs
Most of our Beauty Point week is ordinary: the fridge that failed without notice, the spare-room mattress on its last legs, the wicker setting the sea air unravelled, the hedge cut that outgrew the green bin. Ordinary, except that every one of them lives down a flight or three.
Same crew, same manners, same model. Tell us what is there and where it sits, we give you one fixed price with the carry already in it, and it is gone: same day where we can honestly manage it, next day where we can't.
We work in around the peninsula's rhythms, too. If the job is near Medusa Street we plan the truck clear of the school run without being asked.
Asked often, in Beauty Point
Do the stairs make it more expensive?
They make it a bigger carry, and the carry is part of how any honest quote here is built. What they never do is change the price afterwards: the fixed price is agreed with the stairs already in it, and it does not move at the kerb. If the job turns out easier than we planned for, we say so.
Where does the truck go while you work?
On the street above, in the spot the plan picked: which street, which side, which hour. The council has no truck permit to give, so this is local knowledge and courtesy: arriving early enough to park properly, and never across a neighbour's driveway.
Can you clear a house while we are interstate or overseas?
Yes, and on this peninsula it is common. The walk-through happens on a video call at an hour that suits your timezone, every decision is put in writing, and whatever we are unsure of waits for your word. Photos of the swept rooms follow the same evening. Clearing a house you can't attend sets the whole thing out.
How soon can you come?
Often within days, sometimes the same day, and we only offer what the calendar can keep. A below-road job gets a real window rather than a hopeful one, because the plan needs the right hour as much as the right day.

Whenever you are ready
Tell us a little about the house, the move or the pickup. We will come back to you promptly, arrange a time to look, and agree the price before anything is lifted.
